YELLOWSTONE WILDLIFE

I have to say Yellowstone National Park has been by far the best place I have gone to see wildlife. It's amazing how quickly seeing buffalo becomes commonplace there. Even when I was in Badlands National Park and The Black Hills I didn't have the same kind of experience. That feeling about buffalo is a testament to how prevalent the wildlife is in Yellowstone, it's amazing and it's everywhere. So many animals I did not expect to see I got a glimpse of, and in a lot of cases like the red fox and the badger, a spectacular view.
On the other hand it becomes a strange experience when you factor in the crowds. Photographing animals with 20-100 other photographers and tourists around you doesn't feel as much like nature, and at times quite the opposite. Such is the dilemma of the national parks, it's a great public system, but because its public it means all of us tourists are welcome.
